Retro 1957 photograph depicting music's new sensation Elvis Presley posing for a photo outside of his new Memphis, Tennessee home, Graceland. This early portrayal was captured on April 19, 1957 by Commercial Appeal photographer Bob Williams and syndicated by The Galloon Photo Agency of New York when the young monarch of Rock n' Roll was building his kingdom. The central image is relatively unaffected and features a spectacular shot of Elvis in his early years. Elvis Presley was an American singer and actor. Dubbed the "King of Rock and Roll", he is regarded as one of the most significant cultural figures of the 20th century. His energized interpretations of songs and sexually provocative performance style, combined with a singularly potent mix of influences across color lines during a transformative era in race relations, led him to both great success and initial controversy.
